My name is Marin Hetler and I am a senior at the University of Michigan, double majoring in Communications and Media and International Studies with a focus in Political Economic Development.
I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago as the middle of three girls, which pretty much guaranteed that I’d turn out as outgoing and energetic as it gets. When I’m not at school or home, there’s a great chance you can find me reconnecting with nature in my happy place that is Northern Michigan.
I believe in doing a little bit of everything. I love reading and have a knack for reviewing books (find me @Magoolovesreading), working out, refurbishing antique furniture, supporting local establishments, traveling, and capturing stories through photojournalism.
Travel has played an enormous role in shaping who I am. I’ve been lucky enough to visit 28 countries, and each trip has changed the way I view the world. Learning about and immersing myself in different cultures has been the greatest privilege and has deeply influenced my creativity and ability to connect with people in meaningful ways.
At my core, I’m passionate about storytelling and innovation to find unique ways to share ideas, highlight experiences, and bring people together.
